Evaluate

Start with
a conversation.

Written to be forwarded to the colleague who decides. Who we work with, how an evaluation runs, and what the Terminal gives you.

01

Who we work with

  • Institutional investors
  • Singapore and the United States first; elsewhere on request
  • Unsure whether that includes you? Ask; the answer is usually quick

02

How an evaluation works

  • It starts with an episode you name, where the decision to restore or reduce risk was difficult
  • We reconstruct it on our standard fifty names and set it beside what your process showed; no holdings needed
  • If that proves useful: ninety days, scoped together around your questions, the fee credited in full against a subscription if you continue

03

What you receive

  • The Terminal: twelve screens on the same fifty names and sessions
  • The day’s brief; the stress and co-movement map, fragility, macro moves and idio risk; convexity and dispersion
  • Implied against realised; the episode register; evidence, source health and single-contract detail
  • An API and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so the readings reach your own systems and your AI assistants
  • The research as it is published, and direct access to the founder
  • Each session published once it has become historical, identical for every subscriber

By desk

What to bring,
and where the reading stops.

  • Volatility desks. Bring an episode where the hedging decision was difficult. The public reading is not a trade signal, a forecast of a volatility spike or a claim of improved hedge performance.
  • Equity long/short, family offices, allocators and insurers. Bring an episode where the decision to restore or reduce risk was difficult, or the last rebalance or overlay decision the committee found difficult; we set the readings on those dates beside the record of what your process or committee saw. The readings are evidence for that discussion, not a prompt to act; they do not calculate a portfolio’s index-versus-idiosyncratic risk, size a hedge or establish that another decline is coming. At an insurer we start with the equity or overlay team, not with a general-account proposal.

The boundary

Three things
Altus never does.

  • No forecast, recommendation or view on any security; every subscriber receives the same reading.
  • No client positions or data are received, and readings are licensed for internal use only.
  • Not a system of record and not an input to any capital, solvency or regulatory number.
